What is Group Therapy?

Group psychotherapy is a powerful, research-supported form of therapy. In a confidential space guided by a trained therapist, a small group of individuals come together to to help one another grow—sometimes through direct instruction and skills training; other times through honest reflection and compassionate feedback, and always through connection & shared experience.

Process Groups

A process group is interpersonal and exploratory. Rather than learning skills from a curriculum, members learn from one another through real-time experience.

Work in a process group focuses on:
✔ how you relate
✔ how you communicate
✔ how you protect
✔ how you withdraw or reach for others
✔ how you navigate vulnerability, conflict, and repair

DBT SKILLS GROUP

A DBT skills group is structured and curriculum-based. Members learn evidence-based DBT skills.

It functions more like a class:
➡ new skills are taught and practiced
➡ homework is assigned
➡ members apply skills to their lives
➡ sharing tends to be brief and focused on skill use

Is Group Right for Me?

It’s normal to feel unsure. Many people worry:

Will I connect with others?
Will I take up too much (or not enough) space?
What if it feels awkward to share?

Most members begin with hesitation and move toward comfort, trust, and belonging. For many, group offers immense relief because they no longer have to carry things alone.
