When it comes to journaling, there really are no hard rules to follow. The point is to allow the release of mental energy, using stillness and focus in the moment to emotionally reset and direct your energy to positive goals. Some people may think “journaling is for girls” ascribing the “Dear Diary” stage as one for tween girls, but SURPRISE: Men, including successful entrepreneurs, journal too. Richard Branson, of Virgin Airlines fame, attributes much of his success to journaling, stating he could not have acted on his ideas if he didn’t remember them. Excerpts of his advice on journaling is below. Here’s a list of other famous men who journaled:
1. Theodore Roosevelt
2. Thomas Jefferson
3. Charles Darwin
4. Benjamin Franklin
5. Lewis and Clark
6. Andrew Carnegie
7. Ralph Waldo Emerson
8. Captain Cook
9. Winston Churchill
10. Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton
