Journaling is an easy and effective self care tool that I’ve used for more than 15 years. Among its many virtues, journaling helps clear the mind, organize thoughts, explore areas where I’m stuck or conflicted, and find resilience. Come learn more at the Magic of Journaling Workshop I’m hosting on Saturday 12/14 from 9 am to 12 pm at 2419 E. Commercial Blvd., Suite 203. The cost is $75.

Step One: The Journal. I’ve had all sorts of journals, varying in size, shape, color and bind. Journal selection is a personal choice. I say “Choose what attracts you.” Some like the books large and the pages blank. I tend to like one I can carry by hand and tuck in my purse or tuck between my car seat. I like lined pages and a bookmark. You get to say!

Join the journal group! See the value of “your brain on ink” (Pennebaker, 2016) and what Kathleen Adams, a pioneer in journal therapy, calls “the 79-cent therapist.” You will leave rejuvenated, with a new friend and techniques to support your growth and development.
